May 24th, 2025: Angiology Prize 2025 – Call for Submissions!

In 2025, the Swiss Society for Angiology (SSA) will again award its Angiology Prize, endowed with CHF 10,000.–, for outstanding research in vascular medicine. Eligible are original projects in basic, clinical, or translational angiology, submitted or published between January 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025. Submission deadline: August 31, 2025!

April 30th, 2024: USGG Research Award 2025!

In 2025, the USGG will once again award a «Research Promotion Prize» in the amount of CHF 10,000.00. The prize aims to support research in the field of vascular diseases. Projects that have already been initiated and are being conducted in Switzerland will be considered. The same protocol may only be submitted to one of the calls for proposals issued by the societies of the Union of Swiss Societies for Vascular Diseases (USGG) in the same year. Projects that have already been awarded or are supported by the SNSF are not eligible. Application deadline: August 29, 2025!

February 27th, 2025: Reminder – SSA recommendations

The Swiss Society of Angiology publishes recommendations and guidelines. Please note the updated criteria for inpatient percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA).

January 24th, 2024: «Smarter Medicine» – SSA publishes Top 5-list

The Swiss Society of Angiology has established a top 5 list of unnecessary treatments based on the latest scientific findings. As such, the SSA supports the «Smarter Medicine» campaign of «Choosing Wisely Switzerland». The Top-5-list, which has now been published, lists frequent but unnecessary investigations or treatments in vascular medicine.

December 18th, 2023: SSA is part of the alliance for appropriate and practicable flat rates

The FMCH and several specialist societies - including the SSA - reject version 1.0 of the outpatient flat rates from solutions tarifaires suisses sa. Together, they support outpatient flat rates that are based on medical criteria.
