VASCERN – European Network for Rare Vascular Diseases
SSA is actively involved in VASCERN and provides its members with direct access to this expert network.
VASCERN (the European Reference Network on Rare Multisystemic Vascular Diseases) is one of 24 ERNs established by the European Union. Its goal is to bring together the best expertise in Europe to offer cross-border healthcare to patients with rare vascular diseases.
VASCERN currently consists of 48 highly specialized multidisciplinary expert teams from 39 healthcare providers and 6 affiliated partners across 19 EU Member States, as well as several European patient organizations. It is coordinated from Paris, France, at Hôpital Bichat-Claude Bernard (AP-HP).
The network aims to improve patient care, promote best practices and clinical guidelines, strengthen research, empower patients, train medical professionals, and fully harness the potential of European cooperation in specialized healthcare by using the latest innovations in medical science and health technology.
